Culture is a patina layer, a deposition of collective knowledge of all people.” The artwork “Patina” serves as a social experiment and a monument to emerging layers. “Patina” consists of three concrete sculptures, each formed by a pair of illuminated frames placed on a concrete block and connected on the back.

The artwork represents a democratic surface, a gallery where everyone can participate. Just as culture forms as a sedimentary rock through the actions and thoughts of people, “Patina” is designed to be a continuously evolving and developing monument of free self-expression, akin to a visual version of Hyde Park’s Speaker’s Corner.
