In connection with the planned Reid road demonstrations took place in Angel Beach (Inglirand) in 2018 which did not bear much fruit. On a spring weekend day when there was no action, men came with saws and cars and felled all the trees that stood in front of the highway being built by the city – there were a few hundred of them. The sight was inconsolable and somewhat horrifying which made me want to capture this oar shot. At night all the stumps were painted and when the morning sun released the sap on the trees, the colors mixed, the stumps and the ground were covered with a suspicious secretion which as it dried to began resemble more and more coagulated blood and a terrible secret massacre – the crime was documented.
