The hand, as a standalone symbol, carries diverse meanings. It can be seen as a source of meditative activity – handling a musical instrument or tool, gesturing, embracing, etc. Hands can even serve as a means of playfulness. The oldest cave drawings depict handprints rather than cattle or humans.

Reason guides, but the hand performs. The master’s hand is his signature.

The only perfect geometric object is a sphere. Nothing can be added or taken away from a sphere. If the sphere symbolizes perfection, then the handprints of humans on it express the human pursuit of perfection. Tallinn Construction School is a place where two come together – the sphere as a symbol of the ideal and human hands, which have been instruments of striving for the ideal even before the beginning of our collective memory.
