According to modern knowledge the life on Earth formed thermophilically from inanimate matter at the bottom of the oceans where a chemical interplay between water and temperature began to take place near volcanic mineral columns. Resulting in the formation of long polymer chains that were the crystalline precursors of lifeless DNA-RNA-like helix structures. Such columns were very tall – real underwater skyscrapers. A modern parallel could be a coral or a stalagmite which grows up to 2 meters high in the wild.

The concrete sculpture “The Touch of Life” artistically represents one such pillar of the creation of life where the immediate transition of inanimate matter to living matter takes place – the primordial creation of life. Scientists believe that the “half-life” mineral that formed during the thermophilic process is the green semi-precious stone olivine. This alone is the reason why the surface of the sculpture is dotted with the symbolic green semi-precious stone diopside. The plan is to cover the surface with moss spores after the installation which over time will grow in a moist environment.

A mossy concrete sculpture resembling a stalagmite or a coral has several allegories in itself and side connotations. He certainly gives the impetus to keep all this mysterious surrounding and in accordance with the miracle. It is also worth remembering that although coral reefs do not cover even 1% of the earth’s surface, they are home to 25% of sea fish and other living forms and we are from there – both figuratively and literally.
